Compass Surgical Partners, Local Surgeons Open New ASC

The Joint Replacement Center of Louisiana, an ASC in southwest Louisiana that focuses exclusively on joint replacement surgery, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 20. The new 8,580-foot medical facility was designed to provide patients in the region with access to world-class orthopedic surgical care in a safe and convenient outpatient setting, according to a release.

The Joint Replacement Center of Louisiana is a collaboration between Compass Surgical Partners, an independent, full-service ASC management partner, and local board-certified orthopedic surgeons Steven Hale, MD, George J. Trappey IV, MD, and Jonathan Foret, MD. Two other board-certified orthopedic surgeons, John Noble Jr., MD, and Michael Garitty, MD, also have surgical privileges at the center.

“Our ultimate goal in opening the Joint Replacement Center of Louisiana is to ensure that patients have access to the highest standard of orthopedic surgical techniques and equipment,” Hale said in the release. “Being able to provide this level of patient care in a comfortable, cost-effective setting is a meaningful advancement for our community.”

Located at 5150 Robotics Lane in Lake Charles, the facility has three operating suites, all customized for patients undergoing same-day joint replacement surgeries. The ASC offers a surgeon-controlled robotic arm-assisted system for total hip and total knee replacement surgeries performed with a software that enables precise alignment and positioning of implants for improved outcomes, according to the release. Other procedures performed at the center include sports medicine and a full scope of orthopedic surgeries.

“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to partner with the local physician community to open the Joint Replacement Center of Louisiana,” said DJ Hill, chief executive officer of Compass Surgical Partners, in the release. “Establishing this surgical center of excellence will expand access to orthopedic surgical care for patients in southwest Louisiana.”

The Joint Replacement Center of Louisiana is a fully licensed ASC, certified by Medicare and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
