If you missed attending the ASCA 2020 Virtual Conference & Expo, July 9–10, not to worry. The recordings of all ASCA 2020 sessions are available on demand until October 31. As an ASCA member, you can access the keynote addresses, general sessions, affiliate presentations and focus groups at no cost. To access the entire virtual conference—including the educational sessions—you must register as an attendee.

Prepare for CASC with This Review Course

The materials from the virtual Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) post-conference workshop, held July 27–28, are available on demand until October 31. The course provides an in-depth review of the key topics in the CASC exam’s five content areas:

Attend ASCA’s September Webinars

In September, ASCA will offer three webinars as part of its 2020 Webinar Series.

On September 8, Jan Allison, RN, senior director of regulatory at AmSurg headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, will lead “How to Succeed When a CMS Survey Strikes.” The webinar will examine the evolving climate of Medicare surveys and offer a clear overview of the regulatory requirements. Attendees will walk through a typical day in the life of a Medicare survey, discuss current survey deficiency trends and identify important compliance strategies that will assist them in maintaining a continued state of survey readiness.

Tami Robinson, RN, director of nursing at Unity Surgical Center in Lafayette, Indiana, will present “Bringing Out the Best in Your Staff: Go Beyond Your Comfort Zone” on September 22. This presentation will offer ideas and tips for enhancing staff morale as well as dissect strategies that help boost employee engagement and encourage staff to go beyond their comfort zone.

Lastly, on September 29, Jennifer Morris, administrator of Surgicare of Wichita in Wichita, Kansas, will lead “Strategies to Recruit and Retain Physicians in the ASC.” This webinar will discuss how recruiting and retaining physicians is vital to sustaining an ASC and explore strategies for attracting and retaining physicians that can be incorporated into daily and weekly routines.

All three webinars will take place at 1:00 pm ET and all are included in ASCA’s 2020 Webinar All-Access Pass, which provides access to all 20 webinars in this year’s series for one low fee.
