NJAASC Elects New Board Members, Officers

The New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (NJAASC) elected two new members and five new officers to its board of directors, according to a release. Aaron Shechter of Hackensack Endoscopy Center and Meg Stagliano, RN, of RWJBarnabas Health joined the board as members. In addition, the NJAASC’s board elected Stagliano as president; Cori Prisco, RN, of Hudson Crossing Surgery Center as vice president; Joan McKibben, RN, CASC, of Ambulatory Surgical Center of Somerset as secretary; Caroline Ivanovski-Hauser of Bergen-Passaic Eye Surgery Center as treasurer; and Sheila McAteer of Virtua Health as past president. The elected officers will serve a three-year term.

“NJAASC’s Board is very proactive about serving, informing, engaging and advocating for our growing membership through fresh content, intel about the latest legislation and regulations impacting New Jersey ambulatory surgery centers, exceptional programming and networking events, valuable member-only communications, and our representatives in Trenton,” said Stagliano, in the release.

Maria Alvarado, RN, of Amsurg and Bonnie Brady Lavoie, RN, CASC, of West Morris Surgery Center are the other members of the board.

Founded in 1992, NJAASC is now the fourth largest state association representing ASCs in the US, according to the release. Its membership includes approximately 200 ASCs and 50 vendors and associate members.
