Like other healthcare settings, ASCs continue to experience a staffing shortage. ASCA’s recent 60-Second Survey showed ongoing staffing issues with only 11 percent of respondents reporting no staff turnover in the past year and roughly half of facilities reporting greater than 5 percent staff turnover. (See the survey results.) The struggle is undeniable. One administrator recently reported paying $90 per hour for a scrub tech and another $225 per hour for a travel nurse.
