Pend Oreille Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

Pend Oreille Surgery Center (POSC) LLC in Ponderay, Idaho, marks its 10th birthday on May 13, 2019. Inspired by two local physicians and constructed in 2008, POSC is the first and only physician-owned ASC in the two northern most counties of Idaho, Bonner and Boundary, that provides patient care in orthopedics, podiatry, endoscopy and general surgery, according to a release.

POSC started and has remained 100 percent physician-owned and, in 10 years, has provided quality, cost-effective care to more than 10,000 patients and performed more than 13,000 procedures. It employs 19 medical staffers, six of whom have worked at POSC since its doors opened.

Patient satisfaction scores at the ASC have consistently remained above the industry standard, averaging 96 percent, according to the release. POSC has maintained certification with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and accreditation through Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care throughout these 10 years.
