Choice Care Surgery Center Enters into Strategic Partnership with USPI

Choice Care Surgery Center (CCSC) of Midland, Texas, has entered into a joint venture with United Surgical Partners International (USPI), according to a release.

The physician owners of CCSC include surgeons who offer a broad range of services, including cardiology, gynecology, endovascular surgery, gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, hand and plastic surgery, and urology, for the residents of western Texas. The 15,700 square-foot state-of-the-art surgery center includes three operating rooms, two endoscopy suites, one cardiac catheterization laboratory, 19 preop and postop beds, and two private rooms, according to the release.

"As an organization, we felt that we would best be able to realize our goals by partnering with two exceptional organizations that would support our growth initiatives and provide us with the clinical, operational, and business support and acumen that we feel is imperative as we move forward," said Anand Cholia, MD, group president of CCSC, in the release. "What resonated with us the most was our partner's joint mission of providing quality, affordable and compassionate care to patients, the basis on which our organization was founded."

Patients will not experience changes to the doctors they trust or the services they rely on from CCSC, according to the release. They will benefit from greater access to the latest surgical and medical advances, as well as additional resources and investment in advanced technologies.

"As physicians, we felt it was better for us to facilitate all negotiations and discussions with any potential buyers through our advisor, Physician Transaction Advisors. Their expertise and understanding of the transaction process, the insight they provided, and the impact that they had on our success was far greater than we ever could ever have anticipated," said Govind Patel, MD, director of the governing board, in the release. "Knowing what we do now, we as a group would strongly recommend using them for any future transactions.”
