Surgery Ventures Names New COO

Surgery Ventures, powered by HCA Healthcare, has named Shaun Cartwright as its chief operating officer (COO), according to a release. Cartwright will oversee all operating regions within Surgery Ventures, which operates and jointly owns more than 150 surgery centers across 16 states in collaboration with approximately 3,400 physician partners. He will lead a team of more than 7,000 colleagues who help deliver high-quality outpatient care to more than 800,000 patients each year.

Cartwright most recently served as senior vice president of operations for the western region of Surgery Ventures for five years, where he oversaw 47 surgery centers across eight markets in four states, according to the release.

“Shaun is a seasoned operator with a track record of driving results, developing talent and fostering innovation,” said Greg Beasley, president of Surgery Ventures, in the release. “He is uniquely qualified to take on this new COO role, and I am confident his leadership will continue to elevate Surgery Ventures and support our long-term success.”

Since joining Surgery Ventures in 2006, Cartwright has held multiple leadership roles, including vice president of the Continental Division for four years, where he led strategy and operations for 19 surgery centers.

Cartwright holds a bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Colorado Denver.
